Program Overview


FHLB Veterans Products is a set of programs for income-eligible veterans or their surviving spouses Properties must be located in the United States or its territories.

FHLB member banks are listed here- http://corp.fhlbatl.com/MemberDirectory/mdmem.aspx Maryland lenders participating in the set aside programs are: Advance Bank; Chesapeake Bank of Maryland; Hamilton Federal; Rosedale Federal S& L Assn.; Presidential Bank; Severn Savings Bank; Columbia Bank; First United Bank & Trust; First Mariner Bank; Carrollton Bank; Madison Square Bank; American Bank; OBA Bank; Damascus Community Bank; Eastern Savings Bank; State Employees Credit Union of Maryland.



Allowable property types: Owner-occupied 1-4 family properties, townhouses, condominiums, cooperatives, foreclosed properties, manufactured and mobile housing, new construction (within 30 days of closing) based on the selected product.


Benefit Details


FHLB funds are subject to 5-year retention agreements to ensure that the properties are retained as affordable housing. The assistance ranges from $5,000 for homebuying assistance to $15,000 for purchase/rehabilitation, including energy efficiency, weatherization and accessibiity improvements.

Other Program Comments:Funds are allocated annually and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are no longer available for that given year or funding cycle.
