Program Overview
Maryland Indoor Plumbing Program is a program to provide indoor plumbing in residential properties. All jurisdictions in Maryland; generally, all loan requests will be processed directly by local governments
Property Eligibility Requirements
To contact the local government for application, go to: http://www.mdhousing.org/Website/programs/ipp/ipp_contact_list.aspx Allowable property types: Loans may be made for single-family, owner-occupied houses and rental properties with one to 100 units, which do not have indoor plumbing. Properties must be structurally sound.
Benefit Details
Loans have interest rates based on the incomes of the residents and owner-occupant, or project income available to repay the loan. Generally, the maximum loan amount is 95 percent of the value of the property. Loans in excess of $5,000 or with deferred payments are secured by a mortgage. Loans may provide for deferred payment of principal and interest for households with incomes below 50 percent of the statewide or Washington, D.C. MSA median income if necessary for project feasibility. Deferred amounts or portions of deferred amounts may be forgiven on an annual basis if the loans serve families with incomes below 30 percent of the statewide or Washington, D.C. MSA median income. The maximum loan term is 30 years.
